Directory Buildr | No-Code Directory Software

A Directory website showcasing the best platforms and software tools to build an online directory website. Hey 👋 I'm Andrew. I created this site to help simplify the process of creating niche directories.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026

DirectoryBuildr is owned and operated by Andrew Murray, a sole trader registered in Portugal. I am the data controller for this website.

This page explains what information this site collects, why it collects it, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email me at [email protected] and I will answer.

Information you give me directly

Contact form. If you use the contact form, I collect the name, email address and message you submit. I use it only to reply to you.

Listing submissions and listing claims. If you submit a tool for inclusion, or claim an existing listing, I collect the contact details and business information you provide so I can verify and publish or update the listing.

Reviews. If you leave a review on a listing, I collect the name and content you submit. Reviews are published publicly on the site.

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not add you to a mailing list from a contact form submission.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, this site and its service providers automatically collect some technical information when you visit:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type and version, device type and operating system
  • Pages you viewed, how long you stayed and which links you clicked
  • The site or search engine that referred you

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. This site uses three kinds:

Essential cookies. Required for the site to function, for example to keep a form session valid or remember a filter you have applied. The site does not work properly without these.

Analytics cookies. Used to understand how visitors find and use the site in aggregate, so I can improve it.

Advertising cookies. Used by third party advertising partners to select and measure the ads you see.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.

Advertising

Third party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third party vendor use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, if you are in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.

Affiliate links

Many outbound links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination company may set a cookie that records that the referral came from this site. If you then buy something, I may earn a commission.

I do not receive your personal details from these companies. I receive only aggregate reporting, such as the number of clicks and completed sales. Each company has its own privacy policy, which governs how it handles your data once you land on their site.

Full detail on these relationships is on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

Analytics

I use website analytics to measure traffic and understand which content is useful. Analytics providers process technical data such as IP address, device and pages viewed. I use this data in aggregate and do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

Legal basis for processing

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the legal bases I rely on under the GDPR are:

  • Consent, for analytics and advertising cookies, and for any marketing email you have asked to receive. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests, for keeping the site secure, preventing abuse and understanding aggregate usage.
  • Performance of a contract or steps towards one, when you submit or claim a listing and I act on that request.

Who your information is shared with

I share data only with the service providers needed to run the site:

  • The hosting and directory platform this site runs on
  • Analytics providers
  • Advertising partners, including Google
  • Email providers used to deliver and receive messages

I may also disclose information where I am legally required to do so.

How long it is kept

Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference. Listing and review data is kept for as long as the listing or review is published. Analytics data is retained according to the provider's own retention settings. You can ask me to delete your data sooner.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data erased
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. I will respond within 30 days.

If you are in Portugal, the supervisory authority is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD). If you are elsewhere in the EEA or the UK, you can complain to your own national authority.

Children

This site is aimed at adults building websites and businesses. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information here, email me and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

I will update this page when practices change, and the date at the top will change with it. Material changes will be noted clearly at the top of the page.
