MakeADir Review (2026): Pricing, Features and Who It's For

MakeADir is a hosted directory builder with AI tools built in. It's made by Bohdan Shulha, a founder in Warsaw, and it's been live since late 2024, with a version 2.0 released in June 2026.

It's a capable little platform. The one thing to understand before you sign up is which plan you actually need, because the ability to take payments doesn't start until the second paid tier.

What it is: a no-code, fully hosted directory builder with an AI assistant, custom fields and filters, visitor submissions and Stripe payments.

Best for: someone who wants a directory live quickly, with AI help adding listings and writing content.

Watch out for: payments, paid listings and memberships start on the $39 Trio plan, billing is monthly only, and there's no lifetime deal.

Verdict: a solid, actively developed option. If you only need one directory and don't need payments, the $19 Solo plan is good value. If you want to charge listings, compare it with Directory Easy first.

What each step up adds:

• Free is for trying it out: a subdomain, MakeADir branding, no sitemaps and no AI.
• Solo adds a custom domain, XML sitemaps, built-in analytics and the AI assistant.
• Trio is where the business features start: Stripe payments, paid listings, paid membership tiers, paid leads, claimable listings and custom forms.
• Business raises the limits and covers unlimited sites.

All plans are month-to-month. MakeADir says there's no discount for yearly billing yet, though it's exploring one. Paid plans have a 7-day free trial, which needs a card.

MakeADir did sell a limited lifetime deal in early 2025, but it isn't offered now.

What you get

Custom fields and filters. You define your own attributes and tags for listings, and visitors can filter by them. A listing with an address gets a Google Map on its page.

Visitor submissions and claims. Businesses can submit themselves, and on Trio and above they can claim and pay for listings.

Payments without a cut. Paid listings, featured spots and memberships run through your own Stripe account, and MakeADir says it doesn't take a percentage.

An AI assistant. It can pull a listing's details from a URL, write blog posts, and build pages, and it keeps a "memory" of your directory so its output stays on-topic. There's also an MCP server, so AI tools like Claude can work with your directory directly.

SEO basics. Automatic XML sitemaps, IndexNow, structured data and an llms.txt file. Pages are rendered on the server, which means search engines see your listings in the page HTML.

Import and export. Bring listings in from a CSV (mapped from Google Sheets or Excel) and export them the same way. MakeADir is clear that you own your data, with no lock-in.

An API. Added in September 2026 and labelled experimental, so its endpoints may still change.

Is it actively maintained?

Yes. MakeADir released version 2.0 in June 2026, and its changelog had 16 entries between July and September 2026. For a small tool, a steady changelog is one of the best signals that it'll still be around and improving.

What users say

There isn't much independent review data yet. MakeADir has a 5.0 rating from 8 ratings on Uneed, where it was Product of the Day at launch, but there are no Trustpilot, G2 or Capterra reviews to speak of. That's normal for a tool this young. It also means you should rely on the free plan and the trial, not on ratings, to decide.
